HEALING THE DEEPEST WOUND

(CHIRON AND THE RAINBOW BRIDGE)

The kidneys distribute life energy throughout the body. A force that comes from and connects us with our ancestors. We cannot be whole and complete as human beings if we see ourselves separate from our parents and family of birth. We need to accept our origin in order to have strong roots, which are needed to strengthen us spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically.
In Greek mythology Chiron is the wounded healer. He was the wisest of all the centaurs, abandoned at birth by both of his parents, Cronus and Philyra. Soon after, Apollo the sun god adopted Chiron who was apprenticed in the arts of healing, medicine, music, archery, astrology, poetry and logic. He became a great teacher who initiated healers, warriors and magicians. Unfortunately, Chiron was accidently shot in the leg with a poisoned arrow by his old pupil Heracles. He roamed the world in agony but could not die as he was immortal. He could heal everyone but himself, only to be released from his pain by giving up his immortality in a deal to free Prometheus.
In astrology Chiron is a “minor planet” that orbits between Saturn and Uranus. It represents the spirit of the wounded healer or shamanic healer, acting as a rainbow bridge between the personal and the transpersonal. In a natal chart Chiron shows where our deepest wound lies and how we can heal by transforming it through acceptance.
